Familiarize Yourself with the System:
The XM203 is a gas-operated unit that requires time and attention to fully understand its operation, much like a car engine. Over time, you will become familiar with the unit by hearing and feeling when something might need adjusting, such as low gas or if something is off. Please take the time to learn how the unit functions, and try not to get frustrated if things don’t go as expected at first. RDX is here to support you through this learning process.

Understand the Wiring Requirements:
The XM203 requires connections for negative, positive, and signal wires. Obtaining these from the device it is mounted on can sometimes be challenging. This video will provide an overview of the minimum requirements to get your XM203 up and running.
Using the SDM (Shot Detection Module) can simplify certain installations. Please download the file below to learn how the SDM works.

Heat and Firing Abuse:
As tempting as it may be, the XM203 generates heat with each shot, so it's important not to fire it continuously for long periods. As a user, you must be mindful of this. Excessive heat can tear a seal, which will disable the unit until it’s replaced. Too much heat could also damage the XM203 or cause burns if touched, and frequent firing can irritate others during gameplay.
Please avoid overusing the unit to prevent harm to yourself, the XM203, or those around you. Regularly check the front-firing sleeve for heat. It’s normal for it to feel warm, but you should still be able to hold it comfortably with your hand (after 50-100 shots). If it becomes too hot to touch, stop and let the unit cool down for 2-3 minutes. Once the sleeve is cool enough to hold, you can resume firing. |
